E-commerce Brand Visibility Rankings in AI — March 2026
Which marketplaces and online stores do AI systems recommend most? AI visibility ranking of 10 major Russian e-commerce brands based on data from 8 providers and 237 responses. GEO Scout now tracks 12 AI providers — the widest coverage on the market.
E-commerce is one of the most competitive niches in AI search. When a user asks AI "where to buy a laptop" or "best marketplace for clothes," AI forms a short list of 3-5 platforms. Making that list directly impacts traffic and sales. We analyzed which e-commerce brands 8 key AI providers recommend — and found that each provider's picture is fundamentally different.
Per GEO Scout data, monitoring was conducted on March 23, 2026, across 8 AI providers: ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview, Grok, and Perplexity. A total of 237 AI responses to e-commerce, marketplace, and online shopping prompts were processed. An important methodological note: GEO Scout queries the real, user-facing interfaces of each AI product — not model APIs — so the responses reflect exactly what a live user sees: full-page answers, citations, widgets, and SERP integrations. This is especially critical for Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview, whose live results differ substantially from what API access would return.
Ranking Methodology
Before diving into the numbers, it's important to understand what we measure. The AI visibility ranking is not a subjective assessment but the result of automated monitoring of AI responses.
What Was Measured
- Mention Rate — percentage of AI responses mentioning the brand
- Average Position — where the brand stands in the recommendation list when AI mentions it. Position 1.0 means the brand is always first
- Share of Voice (SoV) — brand's share of mentions among all e-commerce brands. More about this metric in what is Share of Voice in AI
- Recommendation Rate — how often AI directly recommends the brand (not just mentions)
- Sentiment — share of positive, neutral, and negative mentions
- Domain Citation — how often AI links to the brand's domain

Overall Ranking: Top 10 E-commerce Brands
Per GEO Scout data, here's how AI visibility is distributed among Russia's largest e-commerce brands:
| # | Brand | Mention Rate | Avg Position | SoV | Recommendation | Positive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Yandex.Market | 97.05% | 5.66 | 15.03% | 5.06% | 82.61% |
| 2 | Ozon | 92.41% | 2.15 | 14.31% | 4.22% | 92.24% |
| 3 | Wildberries | 87.76% | 1.31 | 13.59% | 9.28% | 80.29% |
| 4 | Megamarket | 62.45% | 3.09 | 9.67% | — | — |
| 5 | AliExpress | 52.74% | 4.89 | — | — | 52.80% |
| 6 | Lamoda | 44.73% | — | — | — | — |
| 7 | Magnit Market | 26.58% | — | — | — | — |
| 8 | CDEK.Market | 25.32% | — | — | — | — |
| 9 | Avito | 22.36% | — | — | — | — |
| 10 | M.Video | 22.36% | — | — | — | — |
The first thing that jumps out: a massive gap between the top 3 and the rest. Yandex.Market, Ozon, and Wildberries at 87-97% mention rate are in one league. Megamarket at 62% is already in another. Everything below Lamoda (44%) represents brands AI remembers only episodically.
The Top Three: 43% of AI Visibility Market
Per GEO Scout data, the three major marketplaces — Yandex.Market, Ozon, and Wildberries — collectively control 42.93% of Share of Voice in e-commerce AI responses. Nearly every other online store mention in AI goes to one of these three.
42.93%The three leaders — Yandex.Market, Ozon, and Wildberries — control 43% of Share of Voice in e-commerce AI responses
But each leader has a fundamentally different dominance strategy.
Yandex.Market: Absolute Coverage
Mention Rate: 97.05% | SoV: 15.03% | Avg Position: 5.66
Yandex.Market is the only e-commerce brand known by virtually all AI providers without exception. ChatGPT and Gemini give Yandex.Market 100% Share of Voice — mentioning it in every relevant response. But there's a paradox: despite the best coverage, Yandex.Market has the weakest average position — 5.66. AI mentions it always but often puts it at the end of the list.
97.05%Yandex.Market is the only e-commerce brand with near-100% mention rate across all AI providers
Notably, domain citation from Claude is 40% — an anomalously high figure. Claude doesn't just mention Yandex.Market — it links to its domain.
Ozon: Master of Positioning and Sentiment
Mention Rate: 92.41% | SoV: 14.31% | Avg Position: 2.15 | Positive: 92.24%
Ozon shows an outstanding balance of metrics. Mention rate is slightly below Yandex.Market (92% vs 97%), but average position is radically better — 2.15 vs 5.66. When AI mentions Ozon, it places it 2nd — almost always in the top 3.
But Ozon's main achievement is 92.24% positive sentiment. The best score among all e-commerce brands. AI systems don't just mention Ozon — they praise it.
Wildberries: When Mentioned — Put First
Mention Rate: 87.76% | SoV: 13.59% | Avg Position: 1.31 | Recommendation: 9.28%
Wildberries shows the best average position not just among e-commerce brands, but across all niches we monitor. Position 1.31 means: when AI mentions Wildberries, it puts it first in almost every response.
1.31Wildberries shows the best average position across all niches — when AI mentions it, it puts it first in the list
Wildberries also leads in recommendation rate (9.28%) — AI doesn't just mention WB, it directly recommends it. This is 2x higher than Yandex.Market (5.06%) and over 2x higher than Ozon (4.22%).
The Middle Tier: Fight for Survival
Megamarket: A Brand with Split Perception
Mention Rate: 62.45% | SoV: 9.67% | Avg Position: 3.09
Megamarket is the 4th most visible e-commerce brand, but its gap from the top three is massive: 62% vs 87-97%. Gemini and Google AI Mode know Megamarket perfectly — 100% and 96.7% respectively. But DeepSeek gives only 40.7%.
AliExpress: The Most Controversial Brand
Mention Rate: 52.74% | Avg Position: 4.89 | Positive: 52.80% | Negative: 3.20%
AliExpress is the only international marketplace in the top 5 and the most "controversial" brand in the ranking. Three signals stand out:
- Lowest positive sentiment among top brands — only 52.80%, vs 92% for Ozon
- Highest negative mention rate — 3.20%, more than any other brand in the study
- Content of negative mentions — AI specifically cites delivery problems, product quality, and return issues
Outsiders: The Invisibility Zone
| Brand | Mention Rate | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Magnit Market | 26.58% | Relatively new e-commerce project |
| CDEK.Market | 25.32% | SoV in Grok — 80%! |
| Avito | 22.36% | Classifieds, not classic e-commerce |
| M.Video | 22.36% | Narrow electronics category |
CDEK.Market deserves special mention. With an overall mention rate of just 25.32%, it shows 80% Share of Voice in Grok. Such discrepancies confirm that monitoring a single provider gives a distorted picture — multi-provider analysis is needed.
How Different AI Providers See Russian E-commerce
One of the key findings: massive differences in AI provider knowledge about Russian marketplaces.
ChatGPT: Knows Everyone, But Differently
ChatGPT shows high mention rate for all top brands but favors AliExpress more than Russian providers do. For ChatGPT, AliExpress is a familiar global brand, while for Yandex with Alice it takes a back seat to domestic platforms.
Claude: Weak Knowledge of the Russian Market
Claude is the most problematic provider for Russian e-commerce: Ozon — 70%, Wildberries — 70%, Megamarket — 53.3%. Claude doesn't know Russian e-commerce at the level of other providers.
Gemini: Perfect Knowledge of Leaders
Gemini shows the best understanding of Russian e-commerce among Western providers: Yandex.Market — 100%, Megamarket — 100%, Wildberries — position 1.12, Ozon — position 1.73.
Five Key Takeaways for E-commerce
1. The Top Three Control the Market
Yandex.Market (15.03%), Ozon (14.31%), and Wildberries (13.59%) collectively hold 42.93% of Share of Voice. It's an oligopoly. For brands outside the top 3: compete for niche dominance instead.
2. Mention Rate and Position Are Different Metrics
Yandex.Market leads by mention rate (97%) but loses on position (5.66). Wildberries is third by mention rate (87%) but first by position (1.31). Working on mention rate and working on position are two different tasks.
3. Sentiment Determines Trust
Ozon at 92% positive sentiment and AliExpress at 52% — these are two different worlds.
4. One Provider Is Not Indicative — and 8 Is Still Not Enough
CDEK.Market with 80% SoV in Grok at 25% overall. Monitoring only ChatGPT or only Yandex with Alice gives a distorted picture. The CDEK.Market Grok anomaly would be invisible on a single-provider plan — and Russian-market surfaces like Yandex (Search with Alice), Alice AI, and GigaChat would disappear entirely from tools that rely on model APIs, since those providers have no usable public API.
GEO Scout monitors 12 AI providers — ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview, Grok, Perplexity, Yandex (Search with Alice), Alice AI, GigaChat, and Microsoft Copilot — by querying their real product interfaces directly. That is the widest coverage on the market, and the only approach that makes Russian-AI monitoring technically possible. Full multi-provider monitoring is available at geoscout.pro.
5. The Gap Between 3rd and 4th Place Is a Chasm
87.76% for Wildberries and 62.45% for Megamarket — a 25 percentage point difference. This isn't gradual decline — it's a cliff.
Conclusion
The March 2026 e-commerce AI visibility ranking confirms: the Russian marketplace market in AI's eyes is an oligopoly of three players with a long tail of niche platforms. Yandex.Market wins on coverage (97%), Wildberries on position (1.31), Ozon on sentiment (92%).
Three things make this data trustworthy — and actionable — in a way that most GEO monitoring tools cannot match:
- Real interface, not API. GEO Scout queries the actual product UIs of each AI provider, capturing what a live user sees: citations, snippets, in-page widgets, SERP integrations. Tools that rely on model APIs receive a stripped-down response that often omits context a user would actually encounter.
- 12 providers — the widest coverage on the market. This study used 8 providers. Today GEO Scout tracks 12: ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview, Grok, Perplexity, Yandex (Search with Alice), Alice AI, GigaChat, and Microsoft Copilot. Russian-market providers like Alice and GigaChat have no usable public API — UI-based monitoring is the only way to reach them, and it is a capability competitors cannot replicate with an API-first architecture.
- Analytics that turn into action. Knowing that your mention rate is 22% is useless without knowing what to do next. GEO Scout's Command Center converts monitoring data into a concrete priority plan: which content to create, which pages to strengthen, which citations to build — with ready-made article briefs generated automatically.
Daily monitoring continues and updated rankings are published monthly. Follow current changes at geoscout.pro. To go from data to results — open the Command Center and let GEO Scout turn your visibility score into a prioritized action plan for your e-commerce brand.
