Brand appearing as competitor, merging duplicates, reporting errors, and contacting support

My brand appeared as a competitor

Sometimes AI models mention your brand with a slightly different spelling, and the system picks it up as a new competitor. For example, if your brand is 'Timeweb' but the AI response says 'Timeweb Cloud'. This is easy to fix right from the competitors list.

  • Go to Monitoring → Competitors and find the entry that is actually your brand
  • Click the competitor menu and select 'Mark as our brand'
  • The competitor will be removed from the list and its name added as a variation of your brand name
  • All accumulated mentions will be automatically transferred to your brand — no data is lost

To prevent this from happening again, add all possible brand spellings in advance at Settings → Brand → Name variations.

Duplicate competitors: how to merge

AI models may mention the same competitor in different spelling variations — for example, 'Sberbank', 'Сбербанк', and 'Sber'. GEO Scout lets you merge such duplicates into a single competitor so your analytics stay accurate.

  • Go to Monitoring → Competitors and select the checkboxes next to competitors that represent the same brand (at least 2)
  • Click the merge button — a dialog will open where you choose the primary name variation that will keep all the data
  • All monitoring data (mentions, alerts, responses) will be transferred to the selected primary variation, and the other duplicates will be deleted
  • In subsequent monitoring runs, the system will account for the merge — new mentions of duplicates are automatically attributed to the primary competitor

Merging is irreversible — carefully verify that the selected competitors truly represent the same brand before confirming.

Reporting a response processing error

If you notice that an AI response was processed incorrectly — for example, brand or competitor mentions were misidentified — you can report it directly from the interface.

  • Open a response card in Monitoring → Responses and click on the response you want to review
  • Use the rating buttons: thumbs up (accurate), thumbs down (inaccurate), or flag (serious error that needs review)
  • When you click the flag (report error), our team receives a notification and will recalculate that response manually

Your feedback helps us improve processing algorithms. Every flagged response is reviewed by our team and recalculated when needed.

In-app feedback

GEO Scout has a built-in feedback system — you can report a bug, suggest an improvement, or ask a question right from your dashboard.

  • Click the feedback button in the sidebar — the submission form will open
  • Choose the category: bug report, improvement suggestion, or other
  • Describe the issue or suggestion and optionally attach up to 3 screenshots (PNG, JPEG, WebP, up to 5 MB each)
  • All submissions are tracked — you can see the status (new, reviewing, in progress, completed) and your conversation with the support team
