Prompt management

Prompts are search queries that GEO Scout sends to AI providers daily. At the top of the screen, you'll find a provider selection bar — choose which AI providers are active for monitoring.

  • Provider bar: choose which AI providers are active for monitoring — ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overview, Grok, Perplexity, and Yandex with Alice
  • Prompts are organized into thematic clusters — toggle each prompt on/off, with your plan limiting active prompts
  • Use "Enrich with AI" to auto-generate related prompts for clusters
  • Each active prompt shows two metrics: the number on the left (e.g. 71.0) is the average GEO Score of the AI response — how well the response matches the ideal answer for your brand (more on GEO Score below); the percentage (e.g. 67%) is the mention rate — how often your brand appears in that response

Focus on prompts that match real user queries in your industry. Commercial and transactional intents often have the highest business impact. Prompt wording directly affects your competitive landscape: narrow queries yield precise competitors, broad ones give a market overview. See Competitor Discovery for details.

Prompt detail page

Click on any prompt to open its detailed analytics — metrics, cited sources, competitor comparison, and full response history.

  • KPI cards: mention rate, average GEO score, average rank, and sentiment distribution
  • Sources tab — see which domains AI cites when answering this prompt
  • Competitor Comparison tab — compare your brand vs a specific competitor on this prompt
  • Responses tab — browse all AI responses with sentiment and mention indicators

Use the Competitor Comparison tab to find prompts where you're underperforming — then create targeted content to close the gap.

3

Competitor management

GEO Scout automatically extracts competitors from every AI response — no manual input needed. The list builds itself as monitoring runs.

  • Competitors are detected automatically from AI responses and added to your list — you don't need to add them manually
  • Enable "Auto-add competitors" to keep discovering new ones as monitoring runs over time
  • Merge duplicate competitors — all data (mentions, metrics, history) transfers to the target brand, and future runs will be accurate
  • Mark a competitor as your own brand for deduplication — if AI mentions you under a different name, merge the entries and all data will consolidate
  • The system regularly checks competitors for duplicates and spelling variations, merging them automatically. Manual intervention is typically not needed — see methodology for details

Competitor detail page

Click on any competitor to see a head-to-head comparison with your brand across all key metrics.

  • Brand comparison — side-by-side SoV, mention count, average rank, recommendation rate, and sentiment breakdown
  • Verdict indicator: how far ahead or behind your brand is compared to the competitor
  • Mention trends chart — track daily visibility dynamics for both your brand and the competitor
  • Competitive gaps — prompts where the competitor is mentioned but your brand is not, with response count and top competitors

Focus on competitive gaps — these are specific prompts you should create content for so AI starts mentioning your brand.

AI Responses

Each response shows the full AI answer — exactly what the model said, word for word. Tap a card to read the complete response with all cited sources.

  • See the full AI response text, not just an excerpt — including every source the model cited
  • Each response has a GEO Score, sentiment tag, brand mention status, and average rank position
  • Brand mentions are highlighted inside the response text
  • Filter by date, provider, or sentiment to find specific responses

Review negative sentiment responses to understand what AI gets wrong about your brand — this guides your content strategy.

How GEO Score is calculated

Every AI response gets a GEO Score from 0 to 100. It reflects how well your brand is positioned in that specific answer — not just whether it was mentioned, but how prominently and positively.

  • Base: +30 points if your brand is mentioned at all. If not mentioned — score is 0 regardless of other factors
  • Position bonus: up to +40 points depending on where your brand appears relative to competitors. First place gives the full bonus; the further back, the less
  • Sentiment: +12 for positive tone, −15 for negative. Recommendation type adds up to +15 if the AI explicitly recommends your brand, less for conditional or list mentions
  • Citation bonus: +10 if your domain was cited as a source in the response. A score above 75 means excellent positioning; below 30 means weak or absent presence
